International design teamwork

Marrasi, Mivida, New Cairo,

As Senior Manager of Interior Design, I had the awesome opportunity to work with some stellar teams in the USA, Cairo, and Dubai. Working from offices in Newport Beach, CA, among a 1000+ member staff, with projects in 17 countries around the world, this was fundamentally an exercise in international teamwork. Representing the owner, managing outsourced interior design contracts for Middle East projects, daily interactions with architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture team members across the USA, and engineering and construction teams in Egypt, Turkey, and Dubai was an amazing experience. Directed / interfaced with project teams including Leo A Daly (Dallas), Gensler (LA), HMC (Ontario and LA), Land Studio 360, RGA Landscape Architecture, Perkowitz + Ruth, DiLeonardo Associates, Hirsch Bednar Associates (Santa Monica) and Gary Lee Partners (Chicago). Ultimately, the 2008 mortgage crisis caused relocation of the Emaar Design Studio to Dubai, UAE. Offered continued employment there, and inspired by my colleagues, I instead enrolled at Newschool of Architecture + Design, in San Diego, and obtained my Bachelor of Architecture Degree.
